Student members of Campus for Clean Energy will be hosting a fashion show to display clothing made of sustainable materials.
Pieces will be shown from 4 Categories:
1. All Natural (Leaves, organic fabrics, etc.)
2. Second Chances (Old clothing, lamp shades, etc. used to create a new outfit, before and after pics of items used)
3. Going Green (All material used must be green color)
4. Recycled Retail (Paper, aluminum can, etc.)
Tickets to the fashion show are not required, but donations to CCE are suggested. All of the proceeds will be going towards CCE’s bi-annual MASS Summits. MASS, Mississippi Alumni and Students for Sustainability, is a network of students and alumni from colleges and universities across Mississippi who are working to make their campuses and Mississippi clean, just, and sustainable. These students are trying to accomplish this through various environmental initiatives on their campuses. These initiatives include the adoption of clean energy polices, the purchase of renewable energy, and onsite generation of green power. Campus successes will then be used to model change in our community energy practices and statewide polices. At these summits, students have an opportunity to gain organizing and leadership skills, learn about clean energy technology, and network with other Mississippi college students with similar goals.
